(San Juan, Puerto Rico) – With rental income and expenses estimated at over $1.7 billion in 2024, 60% of the room inventory and 45% of the room demand, Puerto Rico reaffirms its position as one of the most attractive and profitable markets for the short-term rental business. In this context, the third edition of Rebook : A Short Term Rental Rental Conference , which will be held on February 1, 2025 at the Convention Center, will be a space to analyze trends, share exclusive data, explore how artificial intelligence is transforming this industry and review regulatory issues. As in previous years, Viva Puerto Rico Short- Term Rental Alliance (Viva PR) will be presenting the event and collaborating in its production.
“Puerto Rico continues to experience an excellent moment in the short-term rental market. ” Rebook is the only conference dedicated exclusively to the short-term rental segment in Puerto Rico, and is designed to support professionals at all stages of their career, from those who are considering starting out to those who manage property portfolios. This event provides owners, managers and investors with the necessary tools to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities of an industry that is constantly evolving thanks to technology and innovation,” said Alma Bair , Co-President of Viva PR.
The conference will offer an agenda designed to meet the needs of a diverse audience. Networking and exhibit spaces will also be included to connect with industry experts and suppliers.
Pedro Fernández, president of Cube Events and producer of the event, highlighted the presence of international experts who will enrich the experience of the attendees.
“Erick Cisneros, from Airbnb, will share the latest updates to the platform and their impact on local hosts. Meanwhile, David Angotti, an artificial intelligence specialist, will explain how this technology is redefining property management, from price optimization to personalizing the guest experience,” explained Fernández.
The event will feature other experts such as Cecilia Rodríguez, Market Research Analyst from Discover Puerto Rico, who will discuss tourism trends on the island and how these influence the short-term rental market; Justin Gilbert, specialist in tourism economics, who will offer a global strategic vision on how tourism activity drives business opportunities in this sector; and Daniel Zammata , Regional Manager of PriceLabs for Latin America, who will present data analysis tools and dynamic pricing strategies designed to maximize property profitability.
In the last year, more than 3 million nights were occupied in short-term rental properties, representing 45% of the demand and an increase of 15% compared to 2023. According to Rene Acosta, Co-President of Viva PR, the segment has consolidated itself as the one with the greatest economic growth within the tourism industry in Puerto Rico.
“Short-term rentals are generating huge revenues, new jobs, and a lot of taxes for municipalities and the government. This is not only benefiting thousands of Puerto Rican families, but it is also democratizing tourism on the island. This event is an opportunity to acquire knowledge and tools that boost the impact of local hosts,” added Acosta.
