At the First Tourism Meeting: Porta del Sol Perspectives in Mayagüez, industry experts, including René Acosta, co-president and co-founder of our Viva Puerto Rico Short-Term Rental Alliance, discussed the pressing transportation challenges hindering tourism in Puerto Rico’s western region. Participants highlighted issues such as limited rideshare services and inadequate intermunicipal transportation, which restrict tourists’ mobility and overall experience. The consensus underscored the urgent need for structured transportation solutions to enhance visitor access and stimulate economic growth in the area.
