Important Update on STR Regulations for San Juan
From Viva PR
The municipality of San Juan approved Ordinance Number 39 on May 19, 2023, granting a 180-day (6-month) period for compliance and enforcement for short-term rental operators. Subsequently, in June 2024, the municipality approved an amendment that extended the deadline for filing and obtaining the permit until December 31, 2024.

🔔UPDATED INFORMATION: Last Friday, December 20, the San Juan Municipal Legislature held an extraordinary session where they approved a new amendment that once again extended the deadline for filing and obtaining the permit until May 31, 2025. We will share this new amendment with all the details as soon as possible.
